OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults), formally known as RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults), is our new process to bring adults into the Catholic Church. Instead of starting in the fall, it will begin on May 18, 2025. If you are considering becoming Catholic, now is the time to sign up.
What is OCIA?
The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults is the opportunity for adults to explore the Catholic faith, its history and doctrine. It is a series of meetings designed to introduce the basics of the Catholic faith, to answer questions and to engage in dialogue. Sessions are also available in Spanish at 8:30 AM.
Is it like taking a class?
Sort of. We do have a structure, i.e. an agenda, for each session. Topics are based on the most common questions that people have about Catholicism. However, our goal is to meet the needs and questions of the participants first.
When are the meetings?
Offered on Sundays from May through June, from 11:10 AM - 12:50 PM (NEW schedule). There is a break during Christmas.
We will meet in the Upper Room (second floor of the parish offices).
Is there a cost?
No, the program is FREE but we encourage you to buy the NAV-New American Version Bible if you don’t have one. One that you can make notes in!
Who are the teachers?
Our OCIA team consists of volunteers who love the Catholic Church. Many are converts from other faiths.
How do I get started?
Please contact our OCIA facilitators or fill-out the form below. One of them will contact you soon.
